WELCOME TO GRACE CHURCH
we are a people and a place of grace
Our Pastor's Response to COVID-19
Grace Church Family
I’m sure you’ve been following, just as Debbie and I have, the results of the coronavirus, especially over the past week. Every Sunday at the end of our service, I pronounce this blessing over the congregation. “ I declare health, healing and wholeness in our congregation. Peace and prosperity, and protection, in Jesus Name.”
I want to speak to you today from a place of faith as we seek God’s health, healing and wholeness and perfect peace and protection during this unprecedented time:
Please know that Debbie and I are praying that you experience God’s perfect peace today, and in the weeks to come. In times of uncertainty, we anchor our hope and confidence in God and in His Word. Here are just a few of the promises for times such as these:
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. … Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence (Psalm 91:1, 3).
You are my hiding place; You shall preserve me from trouble; You shall surround me with songs of deliverance (Psalm 32:7).
“No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,” says the Lord (Isaiah 54:17).
1 John 4:4 He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world
We are also to be on high alert
1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
I feel the need to urge you to do all you can to keep every door shut to the enemy so that he is unable to find access to your life. There are practical ways [washing your hands, etc] and biblical ways [wash with The Word – Ephesians 5:26] to ensure you give him no opening, or entry point, into your affairs. The steps the church is currently taking is not being done out of fear but out of compliance to do our part to keep the virus from spreading further.
We will be contacting you by text, email or personally by phone, to let you know the current updates for opportunities to worship as a body during this time. If we do not have current contact information we would appreciate it if you would you please message that information.
We have an opportunity to show a fearful world the calm confidence that comes from being children of God. Now more than ever, the world needs to hear the truth of Jesus’ love, hope, and grace. And we won’t stop in sharing that message.
